Artistic Director Neil Goldberg's Cirque Productions has successfully used UV/FX backdrops and murals on past projects. When putting together one of their recent touring shows, Neil really wanted to push the envelope of what he could do on a fully UV lit stage. He designed the show not only with one UV/FX Dual Image Backdrop (28' x 40'), but also added four sections (12' x 28') on the sides. This created incredible depth to this fantasy production.

Using multiple UV fixtures and DMX controlled shutters, the scenery could be seen under partial UV light, full UV light, UV light mixed with colored light, or in it's ambient appearance only - which takes coloring lighting nicely. Each of the five pieces of art could change independently of each other using the shutter system. Neil told me the audience clapped enthusiastically when the Dual Image Murals were revealed! Thank you Neil for pushing yourself and us to design something that looks and works amazingly well.

If you haven't already visited our new website, please do. Our interactive lighting tool on the first page is worth the trip alone. It quite accurately simulates adding and subtracting UV lighting on UV scenic art.

That concludes this issue… Thank you for your time and we look forward to sending you the next newsletter profiling current projects, next month.

Your comments, suggestions and questions are always welcome.
